Description

General Summary

Provide space planning, layouts, and facilities related support for applicable hospital, clinic, and office space at WBAMC site. Serve as key customer interface for space management and escalations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects, catalogues, and maintains space management and utilization information and records

  • Conducts space utilization studies and reviews to collect, maintain and analyze appropriate data to validate space requirements for legitimate requirements and for conducting surveys and reviews with hospital clinical and administrative leaders

  • Makes comparison with space authorization criteria contained in applicable regulations and any special criteria prescribed by local command authority

  • Maintains close coordination with representatives submitting space management requests

  • Conducts on-site visits of real property facilities as needed to verify utilization and collect data for periodic reporting requirements

  • Maintains up-to-date project files on assigned projects and ensures all required documentation is included when projects are "finalized" and closed out; submits project files Contracting Officer Representative upon project completion

  • Reviews all proposed actions, makes or collects cost estimates, finds viable alternatives, and prepares appropriate recommendations to the Hospital Space Utilization Committee

  • Maintains and furnishes monthly report of items approved or disapproved by Space Utilization Committee

  • Compiles agenda, prepares data, conducts all Space Utilization Committee meetings either monthly or bi-monthly, and prepares and distributes meeting minutes accordingly

  • Establishes and maintains all pertinent WBAMC space management files and records

  • Receives reviews and updates applicable regulations and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of all WBAMC clinical processes and facilities, and pertinent facility management procedures, regulations and requirements

  • BS degree in Facilities Planning, Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in the areas of facilities planning and layout, architectural/interior design principles, project management, and move coordination

  • Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

  • Must have strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and presentation skills
